Why is it so hard to write a blog!

Agh...I am really trying hard to get into the habit of writing often so that when I begin my journey I will be on top of writing almost everyday. It's harder than you would think! I think I have started this "after San Diego" blog a million times and have never gotten far and left it to the point where my rough draft didn't even save anymore! So, I begin again. I am on break in the middle of my 4th and 5th straight shift of the week and have about half an hour, so hopefully I will not get sidetracked and actually finish an entry. That would be a miracle!

I actually don't know why I am feeling as exhausted as I am right now, it is just the beginning of my week. I am only about to begin shift 5 of what would be shift 11 in a row on any normal week (since I am trying to work, work, work so I can save the most money I can). But, this is not a normal week, I am having a friend come into town (a very cute friend I met in San Diego) and was able to get three of my normal shifts covered. That means I only have five more shifts this week and should be extatic....which I am, just also very tired.

I also have not been doing a very good job at planning my trip any more than I did the last time I wrote. I figure, more and more, that I will just be going with the flow when I get there. I just learned that Dani is having a fantastic time in Thailand, but that she is planning on coming home on January 24th, which means that I only have ten days with her and then I will be alone for the rest of the month that I am there! I thought that my first three months of my year trip would be with people around, and now I will be alone for 3 weeks...kind of freaking out!!

She did tell me that I should plan on spending 30-40 dollars a day (mostly on alcohol) and that the islands are absolutely beautiful! She wants to spend some time seeing Bangkok when I get there since the floods will most likely be gone (hopefully) and neither of us have seen the cities sights. She also told me some of the things that I should bring with me: lots of tank tops and t-shirts, no denim (its very humid and it will never dry), and flip flops. She wrote to me that she barely ever uses her sneakers and socks. However, I do plan to do a lot of hiking and and walking to see the many hill tribes of southeast Asia, so I will be bringing one pair of really good shoes. I'm glad for her good advice! ahhhh I'm getting nervous though...it's coming up so soon!

ok, back to work :)
